A playard with a changing station is a three-in-one: somewhere to sleep, somewhere to play, and a surface at adult height to change a baby on. The last of those has its own weight limit, and it is the lowest number on the product. Reading it first tells you whether the feature is worth the weight you are carrying.

One of three publishes the number. That is the state of this category, and it is why the Simple Solutions wins a page about changing tables despite not being the model built around one.
25 lb, in context
The changer limit is not the crib limit. Graco publishes up to 25 lb for the Simple Solutions changer against under 30 lb and under 35 in for the playard itself, and under 15 lb for the bassinet. Three stages, three end points, and the changer sits in the middle — roughly 18 months for an average child.
So the honest framing: you are buying about a year and a half of not carrying a baby to another room. Whether that is worth roughly ten pounds of frame weight over a compact travel crib depends entirely on the house. In a two-story home with the nursery upstairs, it is an easy yes. Compact travel cribs, if you want a changing table. None of them have one, and the reason is structural — a rigid changing surface is what stops a frame folding to 8 in. Pick a category.

What is the weight limit on a playard changing table?
Where it is published, about 25 lb — Graco states up to 25 lb for the Simple Solutions changer. That is considerably lower than the playard's own limit and is usually reached around 18 months. Several models in this category do not publish a changer limit at all, which is worth knowing before you buy for that feature.
Is a playard changing table worth it?
It depends where the frame lives. At a second home or in a bedroom on a different floor from the nursery, not having to carry a baby downstairs to change them is a genuine daily saving. If the frame lives next to an existing changing table, you are paying weight and money for a duplicate.
Can a baby sleep on the changing table part?
No. A changing station is not a sleep surface — it is not the firm flat enclosed surface the safe sleep guidance requires, and it is not designed to be left unattended. Babies sleep in the playard or the bassinet.
Do any compact travel cribs have a changing table?
Not among the ones we compared. The dedicated compact travel cribs — Guava Lotus, BabyBjörn Travel Crib Light, Newton Compact — all leave the changer out, because it is exactly the sort of structure that stops a frame folding small. A changing station is a full-size playard feature.
