What we collect
Nothing, if you just read. There is no account, no login, no newsletter signup and no paywall on this site. Reading a page requires you to give us nothing.
Analytics, if you have not blocked it. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which buy links are clicked. GA4 sets cookies and collects data including an approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring site. We do not use it to identify individuals and we do not attempt to. Google describes its own handling of that data in its privacy policy, and you can opt out with a browser extension or by blocking the script.
What you type into the contact form. Your name, email address, chosen subject and message, plus the IP address the submission came from, which is used only for the rate limit described below.
Affiliate links
Buy buttons on this site route through our own /go redirect and then to a retailer, usually Amazon. The redirect records nothing about you personally: it attaches our affiliate tag and forwards you. Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer’s own privacy policy and cookies apply, and they will typically set a cookie so a purchase is attributed to us. We never see your order, your payment details or what you bought — only aggregate commission reporting. Full detail on our affiliate disclosure page.
Contact form data
Messages are delivered to our inbox by email via Microsoft Graph. They are not stored in a database on this site — there is no database. We keep messages in the inbox for as long as they are useful, typically under twelve months for a general enquiry, and longer where a message is the source of a correction we made to a page.
Spam protection. The form uses a hidden field a human never fills in, a timing check, and a per-IP limit of five submissions an hour. Those checks use your IP address in memory only, are not stored anywhere, and reset. We deliberately do not use a captcha, so no third-party captcha provider sees you.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets its own cookies if it loads. If you block scripts or use a privacy-focused browser, the site works normally — nothing here depends on analytics running.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data to anyone.
- Build a profile of you, or attempt to identify individual readers.
- Run a newsletter, a retargeting pixel or a third-party ad network.
- Ask for or store payment details — we do not sell anything.
Children
This site is written for adults about products for children. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us a message through the form, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In practice the only thing we are likely to hold is a contact form message you sent us. Write to contact@wrapandwander.com and we will act on it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and we will honor a valid request under either.
