Editorial Policy

How pages here are researched, sourced, dated and corrected — and the specific language this site does not use.

Who is responsible

Every page is written by Ryder M. and published by Magoo Media Group. There is no contributor network and no sponsored contributor content on this site. If a page is here, it was written here.

Sourcing rules

Specifications come from the manufacturer. Every numeric spec on this site is quoted from the manufacturer's own page, or from a named retail listing where the brand does not publish a spec sheet, and the source and the date it was read are printed with it.

Policy figures come from the airline or the regulator. Carry-on dimensions, lap infant rules, bassinet limits and restraint requirements are read from the airline's own policy page or from the FAA, CPSC or AAP directly, with the date. Never from a competitor's article, never from memory.

An absent figure stays absent. Where a brand does not publish a spec, our table says "not published." We do not estimate, we do not average other models, and we do not carry over a figure from a previous version of a product.

When a source cannot be read, we publish that. One live example: United Airlines' family-travel page renders its detail with client-side JavaScript and returns an empty document to a plain fetch. Our United page states which figures we verified and which we could not, rather than filling the gap from another airline's rules.

Language we do not use

This list is binding, not aspirational. These phrasings do not appear on this site:

  • "We tested", "we tried", "in our experience", "after months of use" — we do not test products.
  • Any implied credential — "our expert panel", "medically reviewed", a certification the author does not hold.
  • Any price, star rating or review count that is not from verified live data.
  • "Best-rated", "top-rated", "award-winning" — we have no review or award data to support it.
  • Any quote attributed to a customer or reader. This site carries none, anywhere — we have no verified first-party feedback to publish, and inventing it would be indefensible.

What every commercial page must carry

  • An affiliate disclosure above the first affiliate link, not only in the footer.
  • Specifications as numbers with units, each cited to its source with a date.
  • A "bad at" line on every recommendation — a specific, sourced reason it is wrong for someone.
  • A "what we'd skip" section on every roundup.
  • A sources block listing every page consulted, with dates.
  • A visible "last reviewed" date that reflects the last time the content was actually checked.

How often pages are re-checked

All 59 pages are re-checked quarterly, and two categories of content get looked at more carefully because they go stale in specific ways:

  • Airline and policy figures — re-read against the airline's live page every quarter. These change without notice and without announcement, which is why every figure carries a read date.
  • Product availability — every product in the registry is re-checked as currently sold. A roundup that recommends a discontinued product is worse than no roundup, so discontinued products are removed rather than annotated.

When a page is reviewed and changed, the "last reviewed" date moves. When it is reviewed and nothing needed changing, the date also moves — because that date is a statement about when we last looked, not about when we last rewrote.

Scores

Roundups carry an editorial score out of 10 with four to six sub-scores. Those are judgments about published specifications, weighted for a traveling parent. They are not test results, and they are never emitted as structured data — marking an editorial score up as a product review rating would tell search engines we tested something we did not. The full weighting logic is on how we pick.

Independence

No brand pays for coverage, placement or a score on this site. We accept no free products in exchange for a review. Affiliate commission funds the site and is disclosed on every page it applies to, and it does not influence rankings — see our affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Send corrections to contact@wrapandwander.com or through the contact form. A factual error gets corrected and the page re-dated. A discontinued product gets removed. A changed airline policy gets re-read and re-cited with a new date. We do not silently edit a page that was substantively wrong — where a correction changes a recommendation, the page says what changed.

Safety content

Pages touching child safety cite the primary standard or body directly — CPSC, the AAP, the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, the FAA — and state that they are informational and not medical advice. We do not paraphrase a clinical guideline into our own recommendation, and we do not make recommendations about supplements, sleep interventions or medical devices for infants. Those belong with a clinician.
