So the three below are the page, and the honest framing is that this feature is far rarer than the marketing suggests.

Read the noun, not the number
All three state a size. Only one states protection. BÉIS describes a padded laptop compartment; Skip Hop describes a sleeve and Itzy Ritzy a pocket, neither with a published padding claim. A sleeve stops the machine sliding around. Padding is what stands between it and a table edge when the bag gets put down one-handed, which with a baby in the other arm is how it always gets put down.

Is a sleeve the same as a padded compartment?
No, and the difference is worth reading for. BÉIS describes a padded compartment; Skip Hop and Itzy Ritzy describe a sleeve and a pocket with no padding claim. A sleeve holds the laptop in place, padding protects it from a knock. For an expensive machine in a bag that gets put down hard, that is a real distinction.
Will a 16 in laptop fit?
Nobody here publishes a figure above 15 in, so we cannot tell you. A 16 in machine may physically go into a 15 in sleeve and it will be a tight fit with no protection at the corners. If you carry a 16 in laptop, buy for the laptop and treat the diaper organization as the secondary requirement.
