The short answer

Buy the LÍLLÉbaby Elevate Air for range: six positions, 7-45 lb, a published 24-48 in waist strap and a $179.99 list price. Buy the BabyBjörn Harmony for ease: four positions, 7-40 lb, separate baby and wearer adjustment and a stated XS-XXL fit, at $249.99. One other thing to know before you shop — the carriers most comparisons still name have both gone. BabyBjörn states One/One Air is discontinued, and LÍLLÉbaby's Complete Airflow collection listed zero products when we read it.

You are probably comparing two carriers that are gone

Almost every LÍLLÉbaby-versus-BabyBjörn article on the internet compares the LÍLLÉbaby Complete to the BabyBjörn One Air. Both of those are off the table as of the pages we read on 2026-10-07.

BabyBjörn is unambiguous about it. The Baby Carrier One Air page repeats, in three separate answers, that “Baby Carrier One/One Air has been discontinued” and recommends Harmony instead (babybjorn.com, read 2026-10-07).

LÍLLÉbaby is quieter. Its Complete Airflow collection page still exists, still carries the Complete Airflow description, and listed 0 products when we loaded it (lillebaby.com, read 2026-10-07). The carrier menu now leads with Elevate and Elevate Air. We are not going to call that a discontinuation on the strength of an empty collection page, but we are also not going to build a buying recommendation on a carrier the brand is no longer stocking.

So this page compares what you can actually buy from each brand right now: the LÍLLÉbaby Elevate Air 6-in-1 against the BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Harmony.

Where LÍLLÉbaby wins: range and the price of it

Six positions against four, a hip carry the BabyBjörn does not have, 45 lb against 40 lb, and $70 less on list. That is not a close spec fight. The five extra pounds matter more than they sound: it is the difference between a carrier that quits around the second birthday and one that is still legal for the airport dash at two and a half.

The LÍLLÉbaby also publishes its fit as a number. A 24-48 in waist strap with 9.5 in extenders available is something you can check against a tape measure, which is the whole reason it tops our carriers for tall parents shortlist alongside the Ergobaby. The structured lumbar support is a real engineering difference, not a padding claim — it is what transfers a toddler's weight off your lower back on a long walk.

And the mesh matters for this site's buyer specifically. LinenLuxe is a linen-rayon blend built for airflow, which is the right fabric for a July concourse. Our hot-weather carriers page covers why fabric beats every other spec once you are sweating.

Where BabyBjörn wins: two people, one carrier

Harmony's best feature is not on the spec sheet as a number — it is that the baby and the wearer adjust separately. In practice that means handing the carrier to a partner nine inches shorter than you is one adjustment, not a full re-setup, and the baby's position does not change when you do it. If two people are genuinely going to share one carrier, that single design decision is worth more than two extra carrying positions.

The second thing BabyBjörn wins is error rate. Four positions, two height settings, three head-support snaps: there is not much to get wrong. Six positions, three seat configurations, a removable infant pillow and a magnetic back clip is more carrier, and more carrier is more to misconfigure at a gate with a boarding group being called. If you have never worn a carrier before, our carriers for beginners page is blunt about how much that matters.

Both are hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute's assessment — certified in LÍLLÉbaby's wording, acknowledged in BabyBjörn's. Neither brand is cutting corners there, and the detail behind that label is on our hip-healthy carriers page.

Choose the LÍLLÉbaby Elevate Air if

  • One person will do most of the carrying
  • You want the longest use window — 45 lb, not 40 lb
  • You want a hip carry as well as front and back
  • You need a fit you can check against a measurement
  • The $70 list-price gap matters

Choose the BabyBjörn Harmony if

  • Two wearers of different sizes will share one carrier
  • You want the fewest settings to get wrong
  • You care about padded back support for the wearer
  • You want fabrics carrying OEKO-TEX or bluesign certification
  • You will not use a hip carry and 40 lb is plenty

What about the smaller BabyBjörn?

If the use case is purely newborn, BabyBjörn also sells the Baby Carrier Mini at a $119.99 list price, published as 0-12 months and 7-24 lb, and the newer Baby Carrier Hold at $179.99, published as 0-18 months, 7-30 lb and fitting XS to XXL. Neither is a LÍLLÉbaby competitor on range — the Mini has no back carry at all — but both are cheaper ways into the brand if you expect to buy a second carrier for the toddler stage anyway. We reviewed the small one at BabyBjörn Mini review.

The verdict

For one wearer, buy the LÍLLÉbaby Elevate Air. It does more, it lasts 5 lb longer, it publishes a fit you can verify, and it lists $70 cheaper. For two wearers of different sizes, buy the BabyBjörn Harmony — the separate baby-and-wearer adjustment is the feature you will use every single day, and no spec on the LÍLLÉbaby replaces it.

If neither is quite it, the other two matchups worth reading are Ergobaby versus LÍLLÉbaby and Ergobaby versus BabyBjörn, and the full travel ranking is at best baby carriers for travel.

LÍLLÉbaby Elevate Air 6-in-1

Good at

  • Six positions: fetal, inward narrow, inward wide, front-facing, hip and back
  • 7-45 lb — 5 lb more headroom than Harmony, which is months of toddler
  • Structured lumbar support, a wide weight-shifting waist belt and contoured straps
  • Waist strap published as a measurement (24-48 in) with 9.5 in extenders available
  • LinenLuxe linen-rayon mesh, a sun hood, a front pocket and a carry tote in the box
  • $179.99 list against $249.99 — and it was $134.99 on sale when we read the page

Bad at

LÍLLÉbaby contradicts itself on its own page: the waist strap is 24-48 in under "DIMS" but the Fit section says the waistband extends to 52 in. The infant positioning pillow — the part that makes the fetal position work for a newborn — is stated as included only when you buy direct from LÍLLÉbaby. And six positions means six ways to set it up wrong; this is the fiddlier of the two carriers by some distance.

Good at

  • Separate baby and wearer adjustment — the feature that makes sharing one carrier painless
  • Stated to fit most wearers from XS to XXL
  • Two height positions that move the belt from waist to hips as the child grows
  • Padded back support in addition to the belt and shoulder straps
  • 0-3 years published as 7-40 lb and 21-39 in, with IHDI hip-healthy acknowledgement
  • 3D Mesh is OEKO-TEX certified; the Brushed Woven is bluesign

Bad at

40 lb against LÍLLÉbaby's 45 lb, four positions against six, no hip carry, and a $249.99 list price that is $70 higher. BabyBjörn also publishes its fit entirely in letters — there is not one strap or belt measurement on the page we read — so a tall-and-slim or unusually proportioned wearer cannot check it. And back carrying is stated to wait until the child has turned one.

Questions parents actually ask

LÍLLÉbaby or BabyBjörn — which is better?

LÍLLÉbaby gives you more carrier for less money: the Elevate Air publishes six positions, a 7-45 lb range and a 24-48 in waist strap at a $179.99 list price. BabyBjörn's Harmony gives you a simpler carrier that two differently-sized wearers can share, with separate baby and wearer adjustment and a stated XS-XXL fit, at $249.99 and a 7-40 lb range. Buy LÍLLÉbaby for range, BabyBjörn for ease.

Is the LÍLLÉbaby Complete Airflow discontinued?

We cannot say it is discontinued, but it is no longer being sold through that collection. LÍLLÉbaby's own Complete Airflow collection page listed zero products when we read it on 2026-10-07, and the carrier menu now leads with Elevate and Elevate Air. If you are comparing LÍLLÉbaby to BabyBjörn today, Elevate Air is the model to compare.

Is the BabyBjörn Baby Carrier One discontinued?

Yes, by BabyBjörn's own statement. The Baby Carrier One Air product page we read on 2026-10-07 states that Baby Carrier One/One Air has been discontinued and recommends Baby Carrier Harmony instead. That is why this comparison is Harmony and not One Air.

Which one lasts longer?

The LÍLLÉbaby, on published numbers: 7-45 lb against BabyBjörn's 7-40 lb. Five pounds sounds small but it is often six months to a year of toddler at the end of the use window, and it is the stretch where a carrier earns its keep on travel days.

Which is better for a plus-size or tall wearer?

The LÍLLÉbaby, because it publishes a measurement you can check: a 24-48 in waist strap, with extenders that add 9.5 in, and a Fit section stating the waistband extends to 52 in. BabyBjörn's XS-XXL claim is broad but it is a letter range, and letters do not help a wearer whose problem is strap drop rather than girth. Our ranking for both bodies is at best baby carriers for tall parents and best baby carriers for plus-size parents.

Does either one do a back carry?

Both do. LÍLLÉbaby lists back carry as one of six positions. BabyBjörn lists back carrying on Harmony but states you should wait until the child has turned one, because you cannot supervise a baby on your back the way you can on your front.
